Election of House Captains

At Golborne St Thomas’, the election of House Captains, following the fundamental British Value of democracy, is a highly anticipated event that fosters leadership, responsibility, and community spirit among our students. Each year, students from EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 have the opportunity to vote for their House Captains, who are chosen based on their ability to represent and inspire their peers. Candidates present their vision and ideas through speeches and campaigns, demonstrating their commitment to upholding the values and ethos of our school. This democratic process not only teaches students about the importance of civic engagement but also empowers them to take an active role in their school community.

Role of House Captains

House Captains play a vital role in the daily life of our school. They serve as role models, setting a positive example in both their behaviour and academic pursuits. Their responsibilities include organising and leading house activities, such as sports events and competitions, which help to build teamwork and camaraderie among students. Additionally, House Captains assist in school events, represent the student body in meetings, and provide support to teachers and staff. Through their leadership, they contribute to a vibrant and inclusive school environment, fostering a sense of pride and belonging in all students.
