Our school uniform ensures that all children are smart and have a sense of belonging. In line with government guidance we are committed to keeping uniform as reasonably priced as possible without affecting the quality of clothing and the appearance of pupils.

Below is an overview of our uniform expectations, including the PE kit where a few changes have been implemented.

The uniform at St Thomas’ consists of:

  • A grey V-neck jumper or cardigan with a burgundy stripe and the school logo on.
  • Grey trousers (shorts can be worn in summer months).
  • A burgundy skirt or pinafore.
  • A white shirt, long sleeved or short sleeved. Shirts must have a full collar with no frills.
  • The school burgundy and grey striped tie.
  • Black leather type shoes. Trainers, boots and sandals are not permitted.
  • Black, grey or white socks. Grey tights can be worn in the winter. 

PE Kit:

On PE days children come to school dressed in their PE kits. These must be:

  • Burgundy shorts.
  • Burgundy and white PE shirt with the school logo on.
  • Black pumps (trainers can be worn for outdoor PE).
  • Plain black joggers.
  • The charcoal grey school hoodie with school logo or a plain charcoal grey hoodie with no logo or other markings.

From September children will not be permitted to wearing any other tracksuits or joggers other than what is listed above for PE.

All items of uniform and PE kit need to be named. Without a name they can become easily lost and difficult to find.

 Hair and accessories:

  • All long hair must be tied back using a plain dark bobble.
  • Clips, hairbands, bows or other accessories are not allowed.
  • Jewellery is not allowed. Earrings are not permitted under any circumstances. Children who attend school in earrings will be asked to remove them immediately, regardless of when they were pierced. Plasters cannot be used to cover them.

If you intend to have your child’s ears pierced, please do so at the start of the summer holidays as children cannot return to school wearing any types of earrings.

Book Bags:

School book bags are available from the office or uniform suppliers. Alternatively, children can bring a satchel style bag to school. Rucksacks are not allowed as we do not have the space to store them.
