BEHAVIOUR

At St Thomas’ we work to ensure all children feel safe and happy in school. This is achieved through the school behaviour policy where we reward positive behaviour and where children are taught to understand that there are consequences to making the wrong choices and doing the wrong things.

For our children, a positive approach to discipline works. Emphasising desirable behaviour and attitudes motivates the children to conduct themselves in a reasonable manner. All children in school have the right to be in a safe, helpful, friendly environment. Positive behaviour is modelled and encouraged at all times.

Our behaviour management system uses Class Dojo. Please click on the link below for more information.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE LAW
REGARDING PENALTY NOTICES FOR
UNAUTHORISED ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL

A new National Framework for Penalty Notices for school absence, including unauthorised holiday absence, is being introduced following changes to the law. These new Government regulations will come into effect from 19 August 2024, and we wanted to bring this to your attention now, as it will affect when penalty notices are issued in Wigan.
