In this session, we discussed the difficult subject about terrorism.

We were shown 9 photographs of people. We were told to look at the images and think which could be possible terrorists.

This activity brought about so much sensible, emotive and deep discussion by the children. It was also very clear during this task that we can’t really tell from the outward appearance.

The whole-class discussions that followed were so important, engaging and interesting and I know that the children got so much from it.

We were even given the chance to explore different cultures and traditions – looking at jewellery, clothing, money and books.

It was so refreshing and challenging to welcome Refat into our classroom today. She’s certainly left us with a lot to think and ponder about!
